北海道にある人口約1,000人の村、西興部村。
音楽をとおしてこの村のひとたちが仲良くなって、それだけじゃもったいないから西興部を飛びだして音楽を作ろう。
これがこの企画の趣旨です。
小難しいことをいえば、少子高齢化、多年代異業種交流、賑わいの創出などなどが、もちろんねらいにあります。
音楽好きなギター工場の職員たち、村民のよりどころであるゲストハウス、小規模ながらいつも心温まる音楽を聞かせてくれる中学校吹奏楽部、新潟の音楽グループRYUTistとの継続的な交流、東京の老舗レコーディングスタジオとのご縁、案外身近に潜んでいた音楽経験者たち、といった西興部村でしか交わりえない要素は、すべてすでにここにあったものです。
「バンド」という時間を共有することで、そこに結び目を作ることができると考えたのです。
演奏者はほとんどみんな「ただのむらびと」です。
荒削りで野暮ったくはありますが、ずっと大切にしつづけられる音に仕上がったと思います。
音だけでなくて、「一緒にバンドを組んだ」時間こそが、これからもこの村にとって良いはたらきを生むと信じています。
Nishiokoppe village, whose population is only about 1,000.
The aim of our project was to promote communication in the village, and to have our music reverberate throughout more.
Referring to complicated stuff, there surely were other aims such as an aging society and a declining birthrate, cross-industry interaction, promotion of communities and so on.
Music fans in the guitar factory, a guest house loved by villagers, the wonderful brass band of the junior high school, years of interaction with RYUTist, a connection with an awesome recording studio in Kichijoji, hidden but nearby players of instruments and more have already existed here untouched.
We thought we were able to make a knot of the factors, sharing time in our music band.
Most of the members of the band are just “ordinary villagers”.
We believe we will have cherished our sound after decades even though it’s rough and unsophisticated.
Moreover, a bond fostered through the time we shared in the band will be encouraging this village.
A different deployment of our social capital than the status quo as if a brand new circuit generates a FUZZ that nobody has ever heard.
We expected so, and so was it more than that, in fact.
What if the people all over the world smoothly started to dance to the heartwarming codes which are only generated from an accumulation of slight mistake and success?
We wish the world wouldn’t let the ability of leaving difficult things difficult go off in this age of wars.
